Passages believes strongly in investing in the next generation of Christian leaders. We believe that introducing them to Israel’s unique story will only serve as a catalyst to help both strengthen the foundation of their Christian faith and give them the tools they need as they write their own leadership story.

The Worship Initiative exists to connect the people of Passages more deeply to the heart of God. We desire for each person to encounter Jesus in the land that he walked. We exist to build a community of Israel-engaged alumni who profess Jesus as Lord. Just as we’re passionate about serving you, we’re passionate about giving God all the glory through all means of worship by exalting the name above every name: Jesus.

God’s brilliantly diverse creation is like a mosaic: countless and distinct pieces come together to form one beautiful image. Just like all of creation (Ps. 19:1), His people worship distinctly but come together as one body to worship the Creator. No matter what your race, age, social status, or Christian denomination is, you are welcome to celebrate the Lord in your wonderfully unique worshipful expression – in Israel.

Travel to Israel

The worship team members will travel with Passages as participants on our standard 9-day trip where they will lead worship for their round in Jerusalem. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to lead your peers worshipfully to the mountain of God in Jerusalem, Scripture’s Mount Zion.

Lead others

You are serving to lead others on your Passages trip in a time of Spirit-driven, Scripturally-grounded worship through song, prayer, and meditation on God’s Word. You will coordinate with the worship leader and your worship team to invest in your peers musically and spiritually.

Exercise your gifts

You were made uniquely with skills and abilities that set you apart. Here is the platform to give your gifts back to the Giver. This leadership opportunity will also be able to challenge you to grow musically, administratively, and spiritually for your future endeavors.

Glorify God

At the end of the day, the Worship Initiative is about exactly what the name suggests: worshiping God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You are an extension of this desire – to imbue the heart of worship and strengthen Christian faith to all who participate in the Passages program.

Qualifications to Serve

Here are our expectations of students who seek to lead a Passages Worship Night:

  • Must exhibit a vibrant, dynamic faith in Jesus Christ
  • Must have extensive worship-leading experience, instrumentally or vocally
  • Must practice the given setlist before coming on the trip
  • Must be flexible (short on rehearsal time, changed setlists, etc.)

Apply for Your Trip’s Worship Night

Passages wants YOU to exercise your gifts in leading your peers in worshipping the Lord. We have a vision to come together as one (Ephesians 4:4-6) to worship Jesus where it has all happened – Jerusalem. If you have extensive worship leading experience vocally or instrumentally, please consider this opportunity. This application will also serve as an audition – submit a 30-second video of yourself singing or playing a favorite worship song (preferably a verse and chorus) with your instrument or voice at the end of the application.

A Note About Worship Night Opportunities

Passages and its worship leader(s) reserve the right to build the teams at our discretion based upon merit and resources allotted for the worship night. Generally, we can only actively consider the following for our participant worship teams:

  • Vocals (Lead and Background)
  • Acoustic Guitar(s)
  • Bass Guitar
  • Grand Piano
  • Percussion (Cajon or Djembe)

If you are applying beyond these instruments, we may be unable to consider your application at this time. We appreciate your cooperation and your willingness to serve in this capacity in leading others to worship the Lord.
