I had the privilege of leading a group of 35 students from Rice University on a Passages trip to Israel in May, 2017. My students, and I, were deeply moved by the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, as we traveled through every corner of Israel for ten days. Our tour guide did an incredible job to help us connect the places we visited to the pages of Scripture. We also learned so much about the deep complexity that surrounds the relationship between Israel and Palestine. In particular, we appreciated Passages’ commitment to let us hear expert and compelling voices on all sides of the political spectrum. It was humbling and illuminating to listen to Israelis, Palestinians, and Christians share their personal stories of how the politics of the region affect their daily lives.
