They told us we would never leave Israel the same way we entered. That’s true. They also told us it would it would take a long while to even begin to process Israel. That’s also true. While I already want to go back, this sweet adventure is a treasure that I will hold onto as I continue my journey as a sojourner on this earth. One thing I know for certain is that I have come to love Israel. Israel is a place where the past is the present, and the present is the future. Israel is a place of layers. Israel works and rests. Israel embraces traditions and creates communities. Israel lives in the tension of celebration and mourning. Israel is messy and beautiful. For the past ten days, we went on a pilgrimage, walking in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior. We dug into the root of our faith, learning the why behind the what. We saw the Bible come to life as countless stories unfolded in front of our eyes. For this reason, Israel has a piece of my heart. As we stood atop the Mount of Olives, I could not help but be filled with hope. Jesus is who He says He is. And He is coming back again, right there overlooking Jerusalem as the mountain splits into two. I experienced a glimpse of the depths of God’s love for the Jewish people, and how it overflows into the nations. He has already been calling His children home and will continue to do His work of redemption until He comes again. He is a God of faithfulness and revival. Greater things have yet to come. Yalla.
Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. 3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
4 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. 6 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary. – Ps. 96:1-6
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” -John 15:5

Love the beautiful details on the streets of Israel.
After some time of hiking under the blazing sun, we made it to a beautiful waterfall that was known as the refuge to David when he hid from Saul. We got to cool off ourselves in the water and relax. How amazing is it that we worship a Provider who is full of surprises and is able to make streams in the desert?
Grateful for unexpected friendships, especially with this one. Thanks for being my model + roomie, Liz!
How wonderful, how glorious
My Savior’s scars victorious
My chains are gone, my debt is paid
From death to life and grace to grace

Oh what light He has called us into. Do you perceive it? During my time in Israel, the Lord whispered to me the theme of being “set apart”. I have already begun to experience what that means. Though this path that is narrower and less traveled by often goes hand in hand with trials and persecutions, I am learning to claim the peace He lavishly provides and to fight with Him. I am a child of light and nothing can separate me from His love. Ever faithful, always good.
Exploring Israel, one Passage at a time.
He’s not just reviving
Not simply restoring
Greater things have yet to come-
Israel is a place of layers. Israel is a place of up above and down below. Israel is a place of recalling and discovering. Israel beckons me to see and to imagine.
I left a piece of my heart in Israel – the root of my faith. A place where I walked in the footsteps of my Savior and tasted His love. He is who He says He is. He is coming back again. What hope.
